Age is just a number…
So what’s all this #pinkhouseten stuff all about? It’s simple. As of the beginning of July 2022, we will have been in the iconic Pink House for ten years. We can’t quite believe it has been that long, and the decade has gone in the blink of an eye. But ten years it has been. And we will be celebrating the good times we have had in style – but only with your help!
What’s in the Story?

#pinkhouseten is born
So what’s the deal with the #pinkhouseten hashtag? It’s simple. We wanted to mark the fact that we have been in the Pink House for ten years. So we commissioned Limerick artist – Kathy Tiernan – to make us a fabulous watercolour of the house. She ended up creating two gorgeous pieces and asked us to name them. It was a no brainer – Pink House Ten and Painting the Town Pink were born. We absolutely love them! So much so, that Pink House Ten became its own #.

Pink House Ten captures the location of Connemara Blue perfectly; sandwiched (no pun intended!) between two fantastic Clifden restaurants – Darcy Twelve and Mitchell’s.

We just love the detail in Painting the Town Pink. And Kathy even found space to include Daisy the Beetle!
Ten Years in Brief
Back in 2012, the Pink House was not so bold, but still pretty. The logo was painted, and we still have those blue chairs!

It’s always Christmas in the Pink House, but here is Ben, making it Christmassy outside too…

It wasn’t too long, however, before the Pink House became VERY pink. The transformation was stunning and there were so many lovely comments from local people and visitors alike.

The Pink House as we know it today was finished. The hanging basket brackets were kept and put to good use, but sadly had to be retired as the petunias got so badly damaged by the Connemara winds.

The finishing touches were added – the coveted Sunrise logo designs, and the customised blue post box with a fairy door.

What’s on in July

Who better to hold up our #pinkhouseten banner for the first time than our wonderful friends Gregg and Ann. Read more about these lovely people here (update – they have finally moved to Ireland from the USA!)
Save the date! It would be lovely to see you. Pop in for a glass of bubbles and some nibbles, and help us celebrate the good times we have had over the last ten years. We’ll be getting out the PH10 (Pink House Ten) helium balloons, stringing up our pink and blue pompoms and garlands, playing some of our favourite music, and cutting into the gorgeous gooeyness that is custom-made celebration cake from Walsh’s Bakery. What’s not to love?!
